Then: Dan Hogan’s new venture, Medalogix, had announced deals with its first two clients. Drawing from his experience in the home health industry, Hogan’s 2-year-old health IT startup was gaining steam.

Now: The company, which is hovering at 10 employees, released Medalogix 2.0 in January 2013. The latest version of the company’s post-acute predictive modeling software incorporates five new functions, including a telephonic follow-up that automatically calls high-risk patients to asses their health status.

Next: Medalogix is set to complete a deal in the next few weeks that would increase its client fold by 24 organizations, bringing its total clients to 35. The company plans to expand to skilled nursing, oncology and hospice providers.
