Medalogix receives the 2012 Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Acceleration Award

Posted by fivebyfive on November 19, 2012

Medalogix CEO Dan Hogan has been recognized by the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and awarded the organization’s 2012 HIT Acceleration award that recognizes the best emerging technology focused on the rapid adoption of healthcare reform initiatives.

Responding to the pay-for-performance provision in the Affordable Care Act that allows Medicare to withhold payment for hospital readmissions within 30 days, the Medalogix Readmission Reduction tool is a predictive modeling tool that uses home health agency data to assess the top 10 percent of patients most at risk of readmission. In the tool’s first real-world application, 15-day readmissions were reduced by 24.6 percent over 15 agencies.

In a release, Hogan said, “In the very near future, health care will rely on technology like never before to ensure accuracy, quality care and efficiency.”
